About this area:
Douglas County is situated in north central Washington. It is bounded to the north by Okanogan County and to the west and southwest by Chelan County. Its irregular border is delineated by the Columbia River, separating the county from its neighbors. Grant County bounds it to the east and southeast. The greater part of this boundary roughly mirrors Banks Lake. The west, one of hills and canyons, is conducive to tree fruit production. Its central and eastern parts, one of rolling hills and flat open land, are suitable for wheat and other grains.
